Milwaukee secures an 84-75 win over Oakland

ROCHESTER, Mich. (AP) — Steve McWhorter scored 17 points and finished with seven assists as Milwaukee secured a decisive 84-75 victory over Oakland on Wednesday night.

The Panthers (12-5, 2-1 Horizon) shot 27 of 54 from the floor (50 percent) and made nine 3-pointers. Oakland (6-12, 1-2) was held to 22-of-68 shooting.

Kyle Kelm and Matt Tiby added 15 points each for Milwaukee, and Tiby finished with 10 rebounds and six assists.

The Golden Grizzlies opened the first half on an 11-0 run, but scored just two points from 16:28 to 12:14, and Milwaukee climbed back to lead by four (42-38) at the break. The Panthers lead by 20 (69-49) after a 19-3 run with 8:34 remaining, and Oakland could get no closer than eight for the rest of the competition.

Kahlil Felder scored 25 points for Oakland, including all three of the team’s 3-pointers after a combined 25 attempts.
