NEW YORK (AP) — Maodo Lo and Alex Rosenberg combined for all but 15 of Columbia’s points as the Lions defeated Stony Brook 68-63 on Wednesday night.
Lo made 7 of 11 3-point tries in scoring a career-high 29 points, 21 in the second half, for the Lions (10-6), who won their third straight game by making 40 percent of their 3-pointers. Rosenberg added three 3-pointers and finished with 24 points.
Jameel Warney scored 20 points and Anthony Jackson added 16 for the Seawolves (9-6).
Columbia, averaging 41.1 percent from the arc this season, scored its first 18 points of the second half from long range. But it was Cory Osetkowski’s free throw with 5:11 remaining that gave the Lions the lead for good at 55-54. A basket by Lo and two free throws by Rosenberg put Columbia up 64-58 and four free throws by Lo in the final minute ensured the victory.
