Free talk for parents on challenges of digital world

Randall Children’s Hospital at Legacy Emanuel is hosting a free talk for parents of kids who are active online.

The discussion, “Cultivating Kids’ Social Lives in Today’s Digital World,” will focus on the challenges kids face and the emotional capacity of kids.

Dr. Kathy Masarie, a pediatrician and parent/life coach, will lead the discussion, which will include topics such as lack of empathy in youth, cyber bullying, increasing anxiety in kids and fewer face-to-face interactions.

The discussion is from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 28 at McMenamins Kennedy School, 5736 N.E. 33rd Ave. Parents can register for the free talk at http://bit.ly/1iVFnzT.
