Jordan Suell came up with a big blocked shot in the lane to preserve a league-opening win for the Trappers.
Fort led 45-44 with 10 seconds to go as Bay inbounded for the last shot. The Eagles got off a floater in the lane, but it was rejected by Suell.
Suell finished with 15 points, 14 rebounds and three blocked shots.
“He was good at everything tonight,” Fort coach Scott Thompson said.
Will Doty added 14 points, 14 rebounds and six blocked shots for the Trappers.
“Tre (Eisenhut) is our best player, and they put everything they had into stopping him,” Thompson said. “They sort of dared other guys to beat them, and we just barely were able to pull it out.”
Fort’s 42-17 rebounding advantage also played a big role.
“When you don’t shoot the ball that well, you have to find other ways to win,” Thompson said. “And we did that by crashing the boards.”
