Boys basketball: Columbia River 70, Mountain View 32

A fast start propelled Columbia River to a lopsided win in its 3A GSHL opener.

Nathan Hawthorne scored 10 of his 14 points in the first quarter. Andrew Vickers had three 3-pointers as River built a 27-8 lead after eight minutes.

Alex Torson led Mountain View with 16 points, but the Thunder’s leading scorer was held to four points in the first half.
