Catholic Community Services and Vancouver Housing Authority are providing seniors living in VHA buildings with rides to grocery stores, food banks and to have lunch at the Luepke Center. Volunteers are needed to drive a 14-passenger van. A commercial driver’s license is not required.

Clark County Habitat Store for Humanity needs store assistants to assist customers, answer phones and to keep the store tidy.

Clark County Historical Museum is looking for help in operations, collections, preservation, education, history, with special events and as archive assistants.

Daybreak Youth Services is looking for volunteers to help with its drug and alcohol abuse programs.

• The city of Vancouver, Clark County Public Works, Clark College, WSU Vancouver and numerous community agencies seek volunteers to help with a variety of service projects, Jan. 13-20, in remembrance of Martin Luther King Jr.

The city of Vancouver and Evergreen School Foundation will place food bins throughout Vancouver, and community members are encouraged to donate non-perishable food to help fill food pantries. On Jan. 20, volunteers will sort, package and distribute the food.

• The Master Composter/Recycler Program is looking for people with a passion for sustainability to become master composters/recyclers. There will be a free “learn and serve” training series, 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays, Feb. 6 through April 10, at the Clark County Operations Division Conference Center, 4700 N.E. 78th St., Vancouver.
