SEATTLE (AP) — New Washington coach Chris Petersen decided continuity and familiarity were what he wanted with his first coaching staff.
Petersen joked Tuesday that having a solid coaching staff is one of the things that has kept him up at night. But his decision on the assistants he hired at Washington should make the transition from Boise State smoother for everyone involved.
Eight of the nine assistants Petersen hired at Washington worked with him in some capacity at Boise State. That includes former Florida offensive coordinator Brent Pease, who will Washington’s wide receivers coach, and linebackers’ coach Bob Gregory, who served as Boise State’s interim coach for its bowl game.
