NEW YORK (AP) — Deron Williams will miss the Brooklyn Nets’ game against Golden State on Wednesday after receiving treatment for his chronically injured ankles.

Williams was diagnosed Monday with a sprained left ankle, and the Nets said he was treated with a cortisone shot in the ankle joint. He also got platelet rich plasma (PRP) injections into the lateral ligaments of the ankle.

The Nets said Tuesday that their point guard also received a PRP injection into his right ankle and a cortisone injection into that ankle joint to relieve inflammation. Williams is in a walking boot and will be re-evaluated at the end of the week.

Williams missed his 12th game of the season Monday because of left ankle injuries. He battled problems with both ankles last season before sitting out a week around the All-Star break in February for treatment.
