Lacamas Heights Elementary will celebrate its 50th anniversary with two events next week.

The first will be a school-wide assembly at 2:30 p.m. Jan. 17, during which guest speakers will share their memories of their years at the school. The school will also show a sneak peak of a movie short titled “The Lacamas Story.”

The second event, scheduled for the same day at 5:30 p.m., will allow community members an opportunity to tour the school and reminisce with former students and staff. There will be pictures, memorabilia, a birthday cake and the premiere of the short film.

The general public is invited to attend. Lacamas Heights Elementary is at 4600 N.E. Garfield St., Camas.
