Green Bay overwhelms Chicago State 98-62

CHICAGO (AP) — Keifer Sykes and Alec Brown combined for 41 points as Green Bay overwhelmed Chicago State 98-62 Tuesday night.

Sykes had 21 points and Brown 20. Greg Mays contributed 19 and Carrington Love added 10 for Green Bay (12-3). Chicago State (6-9) suffered its first loss at home this season.

Green Bay shot 55.9 percent from the field and controlled the boards, pulling down 47 rebounds, compared to 26 for the Cougars. Green Bay also dominated in the paint, making 52 points, compared to Green Bay’s 20.

Chicago State held an 11-9 lead with 15:29 remaining in the first half following a 3-point shot by Clarke Rosenberg. The Cougars did not score again until the 9:00 mark. Green Bay made 16 points during that time to lead 25-11 with 9:23 remaining, and held a 40-29 advantage at the half.

Matt Ross led the Cougars with 18.
