Girls basketball: Hudson’s Bay 54, Fort Vancouver 26

A 23-4 burst in the third quarter carried the Eagles to their first win of the season.

“We came out and played great full-court defense,” Bay coach Nancy Boone said, explaining the big third quarter.

Paris Collins scored a game-high 24 points to lead host Bay to the win in the Class 3A Greater St. Helens League opener for both teams.

The Eagles led 18-13 at halftime. Charli Torres added 11 points for Bay.

Molly Deleo scored 11 points for Fort Vancouver.
