NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (AP) — Auburn left tackle Greg Robinson says he’s leaving for the NFL draft.
Robinson posted on his Twitter page on Tuesday that he is turning pro.
Coach Gus Malzahn says Robinson “played a big part in our success this season and I appreciate everything he did as an Auburn Tiger during his career.” The coach says Robinson has a bright future.
The 6-foot-5, 320-pound Robinson is a third-year sophomore. Robinson is projected as a possible first-round pick after starting every game for the Tigers, who lost to Florida State Monday night in the BCS championship game.
The first-team Associated Press All-SEC performer helped block for 1,000-yard rushers Tre Mason and Nick Marshall on the nation’s top running team.
Robinson also started 11 games as a redshirt freshman.
