Jacksonville’s 1st road win; beat Lipscomb 88-85

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Jarvis Haywood scored 23 points Monday night and Jacksonville blocked two shots on Lipscomb’s final possession to earn the Dolphins’ first road win of the season 88-85.

On Lipscomb’s final possession, RJ Slawson blocked J.C. Hampton under the basket with 10 seconds left. Lipscomb got the rebound and Haywood blocked Hampton on a 3-point attempt with 1 second left.

Haywood also made the go-ahead jumper with 34 seconds left to put Jacksonville up 87-85. Slawson then stole the ball from Hampton with 17 seconds left, Lipscomb immediately fouled and Slawson made 1 of 2 free throws.

Slawson scored 16 and Keith McDougald added 14 for the Dolphins (6-9, 2-2 Atlantic Sun).

Lipscomb (5-10, 0-4) led 81-75 with 3:37 to go and tied the game at 85 with 48 seconds left. Josh Williams led the Bisons with 28 points and nine rebounds. Hampton added 19 points and J.J. Butler had 13.
