OGDEN, Utah — Davion Berry led Weber State with 21 points and the Wildcats shot 88 percent from the free-throw line to seal a 79-62 victory over Portland State on Saturday night.
Berry made 9 of his 10 free-throw attempts as the Wildcats combined to make 22 of 25. Weber State (5-5, 2-0 Big Sky) made nine 3-pointers and shot 24 of 47 from the floor.
The game started with a combined six missed shots until Tim Douglas broke the ice with a 3-pointer for Portland State. Jordan Richardson responded two minutes later with three straight 3’s and the Wildcats went up 17-7 with 10:59 left before the break. Richardson finished with 12 points on four 3-pointers.
Portland State finished with 25 rebounds compared to 37 for the Wildcats. DaShaun Wiggins scored 16 points to lead the Vikings (5-6, 0-2).
Weber State has now won 20 straight Big Sky conference home games.
