No. 16 LSU stymies Tulane, 63-35

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Reigning Southeastern Conference scoring champion Theresa Plaisance, playing in her hometown, scored 15 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to power No. 16 Louisiana State to a 63-35 win over Tulane Sunday afternoon.

Coming off an 80-77 win at No. 5 Tennessee Thursday, LSU (12-2, 1-0 SEC) has won three straight after a loss at NC State now has won 29 of 35 meetings with the Green Wave all-time.

After being held to 13 first-half points, Tulane (9-4) started the second half on a 7-0 run to cut the LSU lead to 13 points with 17:30 to play, but the Green Wave managed only a Danielle Blagg 3-pointer over the next eight minutes as the Lady Tigers extended the lead to 42-23.

Jeanne Kenney led LSU with 17 points and DeShawn Harden added another 11 off the bench.

Jamie Kaplan scored 10 points to lead the Green Wave.
