CINCINNATI (AP) — Cornerback Terence Newman is inactive for the Bengals’ playoff game against the Chargers because of a knee injury, the fourth straight game he’s missed.
Adam “Pacman” Jones is starting in his place again Sunday. The Bengals’ defense finished the season ranked No. 3 in the NFL despite missing its two starting cornerbacks in Newman and Leon Hall, out with a torn Achilles tendon.
The Bengals had four players listed as questionable, including center Kyle Cook and tight ends Jermaine Gresham and Tyler Eifert. All are expected to play.
The Chargers are missing one lineman. Defensive tackle Sean Lissemore is out with a shoulder injury, replaced by Cam Thomas. Lissemore had started two of the last four games and was part of the line rotation.
