Army outlasts Loyola 91-82

WEST POINT, N.Y. (AP) — Kyle Wilson led a balanced offense with 18 points and Army held off a second half rally from Loyola for a 91-82 win on Sunday.

Army (6-7, 2-0 Patriot League) led by as many as 13 in the second half before Loyola (6-7, 1-1) battled back to come within 73-72 after a 3-pointer from Dylon Cormier with five minutes left. Wilson responded with a basket, and Josh Herbeck’s 3-pointer with 2:02 left extended Army’s lead to 80-74.

Army made 11 of 12 free throw attempts in the last 1:14 to preserve the win.

Dylan Cox scored a career-high 17 points for Army while Kevin Ferguson had 15 points and nine rebounds. Tanner Plomb contributed 12 points and Larry Toomey added 10 for the Black Knights.

Cormier had 27 points and nine rebounds to lead the Greyhounds. R.J. Williams added 14 points and six steals.
