LOGAN, Utah (AP) — TeNale Roland came off the bench to score 20 points and help Utah State defeat San Jose State 86-67 on Saturday night.

Preston Medlin had 15 points and led the Aggies (11-3, 1-1 Mountain West Conference) with eight rebounds. Spencer Butterfield scored 14 points and Kyle Davis added 13.

Utah State went 6-0 early then lost the lead on a pair of 3-pointers by the Trojans’ Jalen James and Devante Wilson with five minutes left before the break. A Spencer Butterfield 3-pointer in the final minutes of the first helped the Aggies back to a one-point advantage, 30-29, at halftime.

Roland hit back-to-back 3-pointers midway through the second period to extend Utah State’s advantage to seven. Then a 19-9 Aggie run in the final six minutes put the game out of reach of the Trojans (6-8, 0-2).
