PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Jerrell Wright scored 21 points and La Salle jumped out to a 16-point halftime lead en route to a 76-57 victory over Pennsylvania on Saturday night.
Wright shot 8 of 9 from the floor (88.9 percent) and added 5 of 7 free throws. Both Tyrone Garland and Tyreek Duren scored 14 points each for the Explorers (7-6).
Pennsylvania led 7-6 at the start of the first half, but turned the ball over on three consecutive possessions and spurred a 10-0 run that put La Salle up 16-7. The teams combined for 33 turnovers.
La Salle held the Quakers to 20 first-half points, and despite a close scoring match after the break (40-37), Pennsylvania was unable to climb back from its deficit and recorded its seventh-straight loss.
Tony Hicks scored 16 points for the Quakers (2-10), including three 3-pointers, and Fran Dougherty added 14 points.
