YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) — Karrington Ward scored 14 points to lead a balanced attack for Eastern Michigan, as the Eagles pounded Rochester (Mich.) 92-54 on Saturday.
Eastern Michigan (7-5) got 12 points from Darell Combs, 11 points from Ray Lee and 10 points apiece from Glenn Bryant and Daylen Harrison. Da’Shonte Riley pulled down 14 rebounds. The Eagles shot 60 percent from the floor but were just 3 of 13 on 3-pointers.
Rochester, an NAIA member, was led by Stavros Schizas with 15 points.
Eastern ran out to a 41-28 halftime lead, despite going 0 for 8 from beyond the arc. Bryant had eight points before intermission, including three straight buckets midway through the half.
The Eagles then dominated the start of the second half, outscoring Rochester 28-5 through the first 9:11 of the frame.
