NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Craig Bradshaw scored 17 points to lead Belmont to a 64-62 win over Tennessee Tech on Saturday.
J.J. Mann had 14 points with six rebounds and Reece Chamberlain scored 9 points with six rebounds and three assists. Evan Bradds chipped in with 10. The Bruins (10-6, 2-0 Ohio Valley Conference) hit 42 percent from the field and 77.3 percent from the line.
Belmont jumped to a 14-6 lead by 13:58 in the first period and led 29-23 at halftime. The Bruins extended their advantage to 16 at 11:55 in the second on a dunk by Bradds before the Golden Eagles closed the gap to two with just under four minutes to play.
Down by two with just seconds to play, the Golden Eagles’ Jeremiah Samarrippas missed a jumper, sealing the win for the Bruins.
Samarrippas scored 16 points and grabbed three rebounds for Tennessee Tech (8-9, 1-1).
