EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota Vikings rookie return man Cordarrelle Patterson has been added to the Pro Bowl roster.
The NFL announced the appointment on Friday. In his dynamic first season, Patterson set Vikings records for return yards and return average. He returned two kicks for touchdowns and led the NFL in all three of those categories.
As the season wore on, Patterson also became more involved in the Vikings offense. He was drafted out of Tennessee and took some time to get comfortable with his role in the offense. But Patterson also scored four touchdowns receiving and three rushing.
Patterson replaces Pittsburgh’s Antonio Brown as return specialist. Brown was voted in, but received more votes at receiver. So he will play receiver in the Pro Bowl.
