NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (AP) — The Auburn Tigers aren’t buying the lucky label.

The second-ranked Tigers launched themselves into the BCS title game against No. 1 Florida State with the help of two of the season’s most stunning plays.

Auburn quarterback Nick Marshall said Thursday the coaches repeatedly tell the Tigers they’ll pull it out in the fourth quarter. Marshall sums up the team’s mentality: “We’re going to find a way to win the game when it comes down to it.”

The famous plays were a tipped Hail Mary pass to beat Georgia and a 109-yard return of a missed field goal against Alabama.

Center Reese Dismukes says “deep down inside, I don’t think we look at it as luck.”

Dismukes points out the Tigers racked up the rushing yards in both those games.
