A substitute teacher suffered a medical emergency Thursday at Cascade Middle School, prompting police and medical response, according to Vancouver police.
Police were called to the school, 13900 N.E. 18th St., about 11 a.m. for a reported assault. Police later determined that a teacher was falling during a diabetic episode and grabbed a female student by the arm in the process, startling the girl, said Vancouver Police Department spokeswoman Kim Kapp.
The teacher was taken to a hospital for evaluation, Kapp said. The school resource officer plans to talk to the girl’s parents about the incident.
