A Stevenson High School student was arrested Monday on suspicion of falsely tweeting “gunmen at school!!!” shortly after classes began, according to police.

The Columbia River Gorge-area high school went into lockdown for 45 minutes, as deputies swept the building but found no gunmen, according to the Skamania County Sheriff’s Office. Austin Raphael, 18, of North Bonneville was arrested and booked into the Skamania County Jail on suspicion of felony harassment.

“We were very fortunate today,” Skamania sheriff’s Chief Criminal Deputy Pat Bond said. “The cooperation between the Stevenson-Carson School District and the Sheriff’s Office provided a swift and timely response, resulting in a very quick resolution to the situation.”
