52nd Annual Clark College Jazz Festival

Musicians from Washington and Oregon schools performed and competed at the 52nd Annual Clark College Jazz Festival. The local winners for each day of the competition are listed.

Jan. 30

OUTSTANDING MIDDLE SCHOOL JAZZ MUSICIAN: Brayton Sobolewski and Daniel Conway, Vancouver School of Arts and Academics. Katriana Armstrong and Vanessa Gress, Chief Umtuch Middle School. Shermon Mattson, Pleasant Valley Middle School. Shane Walz, Morgan Kennedy, and Ainsle Cromer, Tukes Valley Middle School. Skyler Verity, Laurin Middle School.

Jan. 31

HIGH SCHOOL – A DIVISION:

1st place: Ridgefield High School.

2nd place: Woodland High School.

MIDDLE SCHOOL – AA DIVISION:

1st place: Hockinson High School.

3rd place: Washougal High School.

OUTSTANDING HIGH SCHOOL MUSICIAN – A DIVISION: Nick Bischoff, Ridgefield High School. Nathan Mitchell and Gabrielle Allegri, Ridgefield High School.

OUTSTANDING HIGH SCHOOL MUSICIAN – AA DIVISION: T. Anderson, Washougal High School. Nathan Nyseth and Lillian Quintana, Hockinson High School.

Feb. 1

OUTSTANDING HIGH SCHOOL MUSICIAN – AAA DIVISION: Lanie Pham, Battle Ground High School. Jorge Marcia, Vancouver School of Arts and Academics.

HIGH SCHOOL – AAAA DIVISION:

2nd place: Battle Ground High School.

3rd place: Union High School.

OUTSTANDING HIGH SCHOOL MUSICIAN – AAAA DIVISION: Kaleb Armstrong, Steve Mantecucco and Nickolas Schell, Battle Ground High School.
