Group offers engraved bricks for memorial

The Community Military Appreciation Committee, a private nonprofit organization, is selling engraved bricks for a planned POW/MIA memorial at the Armed Forces Reserve Center at 15005 N.E. 65th St.

Bricks will be sold for $100 each and set at the base of the memorial. Vancouver Granite Works will engrave 18 characters per brick. Anyone interested in purchasing a brick can contact Robert Bean at 360-696-2326, 360-903-2340 or robertbean511@msn.com.Construction on the memorial will break ground in March and it should be ready for dedication by Sept. 27, National POW/MIA Recognition Day.
