Two unusual orchestral concerts will take place this weekend, one spotlighting the musical talents of Charlie Chaplin, the other highlighting a tuba concerto.
Charlie Chaplin’s silent comedy “The Gold Rush” will be given surround sound, thanks to Bravo’s Washington Chamber Orchestra. The ensemble performs Chaplin’s original film score as the movie plays. The 1925 film features Chaplin in his famous Little Tramp role, as he travels to the Yukon for the Klondike Gold Rush, only to fall in love with a lonely saloon girl.
When: 3 p.m. Sunday.

The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra’s annual February concert, “Love Notes for Melissa,” is dedicated to conductor Salvador Brotons’ wife, Dr. Melissa Brotons.
