A Vancouver man was involved in a Friday-morning crash that Oregon State Police say was caused by a dog in the southbound lanes of the Interstate 205 near Clackamas, Ore.
Shortly before 11:30 a.m., a couple of cars stopped for a German shepherd in the southbound lanes of the freeway near Milepost 12. Jack McKinley, 42, of Vancouver didn’t notice the stopped vehicles and rear-ended a Mazda, which then rear-ended a Toyota before tumbling onto its top, according to the OSP.
The woman driving the Mazda, Kathleen Gorsuch, 59, of Portland, was taken by ambulance to a hospital. The Toyota’s driver was not injured, and neither was McKinley, though he was cited for driving with a suspended license.
The German shepherd ran to the west side of the freeway, where it was captured and put into the back of a police car.
