A Saturday benefit concert and luau dinner hosted by the Clark County Veterans Court Board will include recognition of almost 50 veterans of World War II and the Korean War.

The event will be from noon at 9 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 400 S. Andresen Road.

During a special presentation at 6 p.m., plaques will be presented to 40 Korean War veterans and six veterans of WWII.

There will be musical acts each hour, including Tom Mann at 3 p.m., Ricky Lee Jackson at 6:30 p.m. and Elvis tribute artist Mark Stevenz at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $30 at the door or $20 in advance; for information, go to www.ClarkCountyVetsCourtBoard.org.

The Veterans Court is one of several of the county’s therapeutic courts, where the emphasis is not just on punishment, but on helping put people on a more successful path in life. The Veterans Court Board also provides or finds funding for veterans court participants who need help for some medical issues or resources for job searches.
