Erin Locke of the Washougal girls wrestling team was voted The Columbian’s high school winter sports athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Feb. 15.
Locke collected 41 percent of the 1,175 votes cast by fans to beat out Jocelyn Adams of the Skyview girls basketball team, who had 26 percent.
Locke won the 137-pound division at the regional in Hoquiam helping Washougal earn the team title.
The other nominees were Union boys wrestler Alex Berfanger, Evergreen boys basketball player Robert Franks and Heritage gymnast Nicole Moss.
Nominees and the online ballot are posted at www.360preps.com each Monday and voting continues until 8 p.m. Thursday.
