Portland Winterhawks’ forward Taylor Leier was named the Denny’s Western Hockey League Player of the Week for the week ending Feb. 16.
Leier tallied four goals and six assists for 10 points with a plus-4 rating in four games over the past week, helping the Winterhawks to four straight road wins in that span.
Leier is in his third season in the WHL with the Winterhawks, and is fourth on the team in scoring this season with 31 goals and 64 points in 49 games.
He was a fourth-round pick by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2012 NHL Draft.
