Girls basketball: Hockinson 41, Washougal 38

Hockinson rallied to beat Washougal and lock up the No. 2 seed to the district tournament.

The Hawks hit a 3-pointer with 1:22 left to tie the game 36-36. After getting the ball back, a 3-point play gave Hockinson its first lead of the night at 39-36 in the final minute, and the Hawks held on from there.

Katelyn McGuire and Hannah Neibauer led a balance scoring attack with seven points each. Alyssa Blankenship had 11 for Washougal, which must win Wednesday at R.A. Long to secure the third seed to district.
