A miracle shot by Robert Franks kept Evergreen’s season alive.
Evergreen trailed 63-61 with two seconds left in a loser-out district tournament game Tuesday. The Plainsmen inbounded the ball a full court away.
A long pass intended for Franks was tipped. The Plainsmen star chased the ball down near the end line and thew the ball up behind his back as the buzzer sounded.
It went in.
Evergreen rode that momentum through the overtime and advanced to the bi-district tournament as the GSHL’s No. 3 seed. The Plainsmen travel to play the top seed from the South Puget Sound League, Kentridge, on Thursday.
Jahmil Johnson added 25 points for Evergreen.
Jordan Lenard’s 16 points led Camas.
