A man escaped serious injury following a rollover crash that shut down part of Interstate 205 on Sunday night.

Edward Wellenkamp, 41, of Castle Rock was driving a Ford Explorer south on the highway at about 10 p.m. Sunday when he lost control, struck snow and rolled, with the vehicle coming to rest in the median near the Northeast Padden Parkway exit, according to Washington State Patrol.

The northbound lanes of the highway were closed while emergency crews responded. Wellenkamp was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, where he was treated and released.

Wellenkamp was cited for traveling too fast for the conditions.
