The Battle Ground girls bowling team had done it all this season.
• An undefeated regular season.
• A district team title
• An individual state champion.
On Saturday, the Tigers put the finishes touches on their perfect season by defending their Class 4A state team championship at Narrow Plaza Bowl in Tacoma. It was the Tigers’ third consecutive team state championship.
The Tigers took a 421-pin advantage into Saturday’s baker-game portion of state and expanded it to 586 pins to win with a total of 8,224. Wenatchee was second at 7,638.
So dominating were the Tigers that all they needed to do was knock down eight pins in the final three baker games to win the title.
Instead, the Tigers finished with the two best baker games rolled by any of eight teams competing over 14 baker games on Saturday, rolling a 215 and 227 to seal the victory.
