Nominees for high school winter sports athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Feb. 1. Voting will conclude at 8 p.m. Thursday with results published in Friday’s Columbian.

JESSICA FLANAGAN, WOODLAND GIRLS BASKETBALL: Flanagan averaged 13 points a game over three games for the Beavers, all victories.

NATHAN HAWTHORNE, COLUMBIA RIVER BOYS BASKETBALL: Hawthorne averaged 20 points a game in two league wins for the Chieftains as River clinched a share of the 3A GSHL title.

JAMIE NOLTA, UNION GYMNASTICS: Nolta won the floor exercise and finished second in the all-around with a 36.2 in a meet with Heritage, Mountain View and Evergreen.

TAMIKA TAYLOR, FORT VANCOUVER BOWLING: Taylor bowled games of 242, 201 and 190 for 633 series to place second in the 3A/2A district tournament and help the Trappers advance to state.

JOHN UTAS, CAMAS SWIMMING: Utas won the 50 freestyle (22.53 seconds) and 100 breaststroke (1:04.45) and was on two winning relays at the Southwest Washington Invitational in Longview.
