What’s the buzz from the world of sports? Here are some items that will have people talking:

ESPN analyst Tom Jackson, a defensive star in his playing days, said he thought Russell Wilson should have been the Super Bowl MVP. We thought that was odd.
Wilson was awesome: rock solid early, and amazing late.
But his best moments, statistically speaking, came after the Seahawks had a 29-0 lead. The defense scored twice, and the special teams scored before then.
The Seattle defense held the highest scoring team in NFL history to one meaningless touchdown.The voters got this one right. It had to go to a member of the defense.

Of course 92 percent of televisions in use in Seattle were tuned into the Super Bowl to see the Seahawks beat the Broncos.
But Seattle must bow down to Kansas City for the top viewing market of Super Bowl XXXVIII.
According to the blog sportsmediawatch.com, Kansas City — for whatever reason — pulled in a 58.1 rating. Seattle was second among all TV markets with a 56.7 rating. Denver came in at 51.4. Portland was in the top 10 at 52.4.
Overall, the Super Bowl set a record for the most-watched television event in U.S. history, drawing 111.5 million viewers.

It’s usually tradition for the Super Bowl champion to host the first game of the next season.
However, this past year the Ravens had to play at the Broncos because of a conflict with the Baltimore Orioles, who share a parking lot with the Ravens’ stadium.
Though the Seahawks won’t know their exact 2014 schedule until April, the good news is that the next-door neighbor Mariners have a road trip the first week of September.
As for who that first opponent will be, there are some tasty options: 49ers, Packers, Cowboys, or maybe … the Broncos?
