Girls basketball: Columbia River 41, R.A. Long 27

Teaghan Cowles scored 15 points as Columbia River beat R.A. Long to win the Vince Dulcich Memorial Tournament in Astoria, Ore.

Cowles, a point guard, added five rebounds and four steals to her career high in points.

Columbia River coach Carl Click praised the defense of Kate Kraft, who held R.A. Long’s leading scorer Sarah Luedke to 12 points.

The Chieftains improved to 9-1 on the season.
