Cherita Daugherty fight through a sore back to score 19 points as the Falcons concluded play in the West Coast Jamboree in Antioch, Calif., with a loss to Brookside of Stockton, Calif.

“It was a rough game,” Prairie coach Brett Johnson said. “Brookside is a big team and we got knocked around a bit. Cherita got knocked to the floor and had to come out for a bit with a sore back. And Jamie (Phares) got knocked into the bleacher. But our girls battled.”

Prairie trailed 23-5 after the first quarter as Brookside dominated the board. The Falcons were able to work the deficit down to as little as nine in the second half.

Daugherty also had eight rebounds for the Falcons. Natalie Whitesel added 11 points.

Daugherty and Emily Peters were selected to the all-tournament team.
