Nominees for high school winter athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the two-week period ending Dec. 27. Voting will conclude at 8 p.m. Thursday with results published in Friday’s Columbian

JOSSILYN BLACKMAN, BATTLE GROUND GIRLS BASKETBALL: Blackman had 29 points vs. Benson and 21 points and 17 rebounds vs. De La Salle at the Hoops on the Holiday Tournament at Evergreen.

JAKE BREUER, SKYVIEW SWIMMING: Breuer won the 100 backstroke (55.57 seconds) and 200 individual medley (2:01.01) at the Kelso Invitational.

EMANUEL MENDEZ, MOUNTAIN VIEW WRESTLING: Mendez pinned second-ranked Bryant Elliott of Camas to win the 145-pound division at the Best of the West tournament in Pasco.

NICOLE MOSS, HERITAGE GYMNASTICS: Moss won the vault, beam and floor to take the all-around (34.4) in a meet with Union, Mountain View, Prairie and Fort Vancouver.

RYAN STURDIVAN, WOODLAND BOYS BASKETBALL: Sturdivan made it onto ESPN’s SportsCenter by making two half-court shots in the same game, including the game-winner against Kelso on Dec. 15.
