A homeowner and intruder exchanged gun shots Wednesday at a rural residence just south of Amboy.
The homeowner came home and noticed things were strewn about, said Clark County sheriff’s Sgt. Tony Barnes. The homeowner and burglar confronted each other and fired shots at each other. Nobody was hit, Barnes said.
The homeowner ran out of the house and hid behind a stack of wood. He called 911 at 1:47 p.m. from his home at 216th Avenue south of state Highway 503.
Sheriff’s deputies canvassed the area and began looking for the burglary suspect. They attempted to track him with a police dog, but the thick, forested area hampered their efforts. They hadn’t located the suspect as of press time.
