Two teenagers were robbed Monday afternoon outside a 7-Eleven in the VanMall neighborhood.

Three people, who appeared to be in their late teens, pulled up in a minivan next to the pair at the corner of Northeast 42nd Street and Andresen Road near the store. Two people got out of the vehicle. The robbers, one with a gun in his waistband, took a cellphone and cash from one of the victims, said Vancouver police Officer Eric McCaleb.

The two robbers got back inside the minivan, a blue Honda Odyssey with Oregon license plates, and the van headed south toward state Highway 500.

The robbery was reported shortly before 4:30 p.m., about five minutes after the incident occurred, -McCaleb said.

Police were sent to the area to search for the suspects, but they couldn’t find them.
