Haley Briggs’ layup with 3.2 seconds to play gave the Panthers the 2A GSHL win over visiting R.A. Long.
Briggs and RaeAnn Allen each scored 10 points for Washougal (7-1, 2-0). Allen also had eight rebounds, and Mackenzie Kitchen had seven rebounds.
Despite being down for much of the game, Washougal played solid defense to stay in it. Allen held R.A. Long’s Sarah Luedke to seven points.
