A 14-3 first quarter helped the visiting Eagles sink the Trappers for their first win of the season.

Sierra Jones and Lynnese Harrell each scored 12 points to lead Hudson’s Bay (1-7) to the victory.

“We played with good defensive intensity, and had more people looking to score,” Bay coach Nancy Boone said. “It was better basketball IQ.”

The Eagles led by 16 points after three quarters, holding the Trappers to only three points in both the first quarter and the third quarter.

“Our kids get up for Fort,” Boone said. “We may be at 2A and they are at 3A, but it’s still our rivalry.”

Yimei Kerr scored 11 points for Fort Vancouver (1-6).
