A 16-0 run midway through the game was the difference as the Panthers remained unbeaten with Thursday’s 2A Greater St. Helens League win at Longview.

Trailing 20-14 late in the first half, Washougal scored the final six points of the second quarter and the first 10 points of the third quarter. The Panthers were in control from there. A 3-pointer at the buzzer made the final margin two points. Washougal was up nine in the final 90 seconds, but several missed foul shots in the fourth quarter helped the Lumberjacks (2-3, 0-1) close the gap.

Noah Prangley led Washougal (8-0, 2-0) with 13 points and Ryan Taylor added 12 points.

Coby Rothwell made five 3-pointers and led R.A. Long with 16 points.
