The Chieftains rallied from seven points down in the fourth quarter to win in Longview.

Kate Kraft scored eight of her 12 points in the fourth quarter and played some good defense down the stretch to contain R.A. Long post Sarah Luedke. Luedke scored 25 points, but was held in check by Kraft late in the fourth quarter, according to River coach Carl Click.

Columbia River — which had only 13 points in the first half after scoring only two points in the second quarter — scored 21 in the fourth quarter. Kraft and Megan Bloom hit timely 3-pointers, and Marion Lilly hit a perimeter shot during the rally.

The Chieftains (6-1) took the lead on two free throws by Holli Jo Chose. A Kraft foul shot with 10 seconds left provided the final margin.

Chose led River in rebounding with eight and Bloom made five steals.
