Ridgefield port honored by peer group

The Port of Ridgefield has received the annual “Port of the Year” award from the Washington Public Ports Association.

The port received the award at a Dec. 12 ceremony in Bellevue. The ports association has selected an annual award winner since 1987. The award goes to ports that have shown exceptional success in the industry.

The ports association cited the Port of Ridgefield’s $90 million environmental cleanup of a 41-acre waterfront site, known as Millers’ Landing, as the determining factor in issuing the award to the port.
