Week 2 winter sports athlete of the week nominees

Nominees for high school winter athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Dec. 13. Voting will conclude at 8 p.m. Thursday with results published in Friday’s Columbian.

MEGAN BEATTY, HUDSON’S BAY GYMNASTICS: Beatty won the all-around (34.75), bars and beam in a meet against Columbia River, Heritage and Union.

TIFFANY BECKER, MOUNTAIN VIEW BOWLING: Becker set a school record by bowling a 289 game and averaged 176 for the week.

MEGAN BLOOM, COLUMBIA RIVER GIRLS BASKETBALL: Bloom averaged 17.5 points over two games for Columbian River and hit seven 3-pointers.

RILEY HAWKEN, UNION BOYS BASKETBALL: Hawken averaged 22.7 points in 3 games and had a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds against Prairie.

DYLAN OSBORNE, HOCKINSON SWIMMING: Osborne was the high-point scorer in the Sprint Pentathlon in Longview and won the 25-yard butterfly.
