Girls basketball: La Center 60, Washougal 49

Freshman Bethany Whitten made 11 of 12 free throw in the fourth quarter as the Wildcats won the non-league game on the road.

Whitten was 12 of 14 from the line in the game for a game-high 23 points.

Katie Whitten scored 10 of her 12 points in the first quarter when La Center took an 11-point lead. She also had seven assists and five steals.

Taylor Mills had 11 rebounds, and Shelby Vermuelen had 10 points and seven rebounds for the Wildcats.

For Washougal, Alyssa Blankenship had 17 points and eight rebounds, Jolynn Wenick had 12 points and 10 rebounds, and RaeAnn Allen had 10 points and 12 rebounds.
